This ‘technology rich’ facility is home to more than 400 employees engaged in the production, distribution and sales of various media. The Lounge is a place to relax and decompress. A more dramatic and un-even illumination level was desired in the coffee bar to contrast the typical open office areas. The pendants penetrate through a ceiling cut out, giving it a home, and allowing a peek at the dark grey ceiling beyond and adding depth. The downlights and pendants are randomly placed. MR16 monopoints accent the counter. White fabric panels are illuminated with a single PAR lamp centered on each. Due to the efficient lighting techniques in the open office areas, and the target of 30 foot-candles, Title24 is achieved while having this space illuminated mostly by incandescents.
